A Study of Military Soldiers Attitude toward the Maladjustment Soldiers

Abstract
Purpose : This study was carried out to figure out the stigma and the attitudes of fellow soldiers to the Maladjustment soldiers.

Methods : Three troops were selected, which have sent the Maladjustment soldiers to Vision Camp. The answers from 289 soldiers were only used as valid data by descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis.

Results : 1) In CAMI, authoritarianism(2.95) and the limit on social life(2.60) as negative sub factors are comparatively lower than precedent studies. Positive attitudes, mercy(3.34) and the concept of local mental health(2.60), were higher. 2) The higher educated answered, the higher score to the questions about local mental health. And religion made differences in the answers about mercy(p<.05) 3) Stigma to the Maladjustment soldiers was 2.83 which is below the middle. 4) Stigma to the Maladjustment soldiers and the negative sub factors - authoritarianism and the limit on social life- have statically influenced on the results(¥â=229, p<.002, explanation power 19.3%)

Conclusion : This study shows that soldiers have more positive attitudes to the Maladjustment soldiers. The fact army is more supportive environment to the Maladjustment soldiers than the general public should be educated.
